Join FREE at www.getjam.co.uk (PC or Mac) or www.getjam.mobi (on your mobile), set up your account with some basic details and create your personal PIN. You'll get an SMS from getjam with a link to download the getjam player to your handset. Just click the link follow the instructions to download the application onto your mobile and you'll be set!
Anyone in the UK can JAM to 88600 (std network rate) and we'll send you a link to directly download the getjam player, click to download and install. Before you can log in, just click on the 'i want to join FREE now' on the start up page and you can join up through the player.
If you've already joined and just need a new getjam player, just txt JAM to 88600 (std network rate) from your mobile, download the latest version of the player, use the pin you set up to log in.
What do I need to use getajm? To use getjam you just need a supported handset, mobile internet set up with your network and we suggest you make sure you know what mobile internet/data charges are.
Can I getjam on my mobile? getjam is already available on the majority of handsets, all Nokia and Sony Ericssons are already supported (not available for BlackBerry or iPhones yet!). In case your phone is not yet supported, still join free and click the link we'll send - we'll note your mobile number and handset type - and let you know as soon as you can getjam on your handset.
Will you be supporting more mobile phones in the future? The getjam gang are hard at work adding more ways to getjam.
What if I change my mobile phone? Your account is set up to your mobile number.
If you keep same number and get a new handset, just txt JAM to 88600 (std rate SMS), download, install and log in using the same PIN.
If you get a new mobile number, then it's best to join and set up a new account on the new number. If you need any help or to move your berry balance from one number to your new one, just email hello@getjam.co.uk
Is my mobile network supported? getjam is available on ALL UK mobile networks offering mobile internet.
Does getjam work with 3G? Yes - and it makes it even faster. You can also use WiFi, if your phone supports this.
HOW TO GET THE LATEST GETJAM PLAYER?
At any time you can SMS 'JAM' to 88600 (standard rate SMS) from your registered mobile number, you'll get an SMS back, click to download and install the latest version. Use same pin to log in.
How do I click the link?
First, open the SMS you got from getjam - it has a link to download the getjam player from mobile internet. Then, depending on your phone, you may need to scroll down to highlight the link and choose 'Open', 'Go to' or 'Select'. On some phones you have to choose 'Use detail' then select 'Web address' first of all. Once you have done this your phone will try to make an Internet connection and start the download.
It says the application is UNTRUSTED before I download, is it ok?
Yes, a lot of phones contain a warning about the 'source' - it's a default message (similar to PC's when installing software). getjam is safe - click 'yes' or 'ok'to continue the installation and continue clicking yes/ok.
I've clicked the link in the SMS but nothing has happened?
If you have received the SMS with the download link and clicked but nothing happens or you get a 'check settings' message - it's pretty likely you need to get Java Internet Settings - easily done. See the following section: Java Settings and Connecting.
How long will it take to download and install getjam?
Just take a few seconds. The first time you start the getjam player it will take slightly longer than usual to 'update' (maybe 10 seconds, faster if 3G). Connection speeds getting videos and other content will depend on your network's coverage and the strength of signal you have.
What if the player gets jammed?
In case the getjam player seems to freeze or pause for too long, give it a little time - if still stuck after 60 seconds it's try holding your 'back' button which will shut down the getjam player. If you ever find the player gets stuck or you've done something else for a while and come back to your getjam session -hitting 'exit' on the menu and logging back in should get you back on track. Do I need to keep the SMS you sent me?
No, once installed you can delete the SMS. If you ever need to a new getjam player - just txt JAM to 88600 for the latest version, click the link to install and use the same PIN.
What happens if I run out of credit when downloading getjam?
getjam is free to join and use, but your phone network may charge you for the mobile internet / data. If you happen to run out of credit part way through downloading, you'll be able to start it again as soon as you've topped up, just click on the message we've sent again OR txt JAM to 88600 for a new link.
Why does my mobile phone need to connect to the internet?
getjam uses the mobile internet to bring all it's cool content as as data.
How do I connect my mobile phone to the internet?
Most new mobile come with internet setting already. If you've ever downloaded a ringtone or a game onto your mobile - chances are you'll be set up already. If getting a 'check settings' message when trying to install or if you're unsure just call your network and ask them to send you 'Internet Settings for Java' - they'll send them to you free.
What are Internet Settings for Java?
Nothing to be scared of! They're just settings that let your mobile know how to get to the mobile internet when you are using a Java application (like the getjam player).
How do I get internet settings for my mobile phone?
1) Call network and ask for 'Internet Setting for Java' or visit their website - they'll send them free.
2) You can also get internet settings from your phone manufacturer's web sites. Search for 'settings for WAP, Mobile Internet or Java' click here to get internet java settings.
How can I check whether my internet settings are correct?
The correct internet settings will usually include your operator's name and then GPRS, WAP or Internet. Any settings including the letters MMS will not work. If you want to try checking manually then locating your settings varies from phone to phone:

Intro to my stuff
After you've logged into the getjam player once, your account is 'active'. You can then login at www.getjam.co.uk (enter your mobile number and 4 digit PIN - at the login box, top right of the home page). Head to 'my stuff to see what you've been earning and spending in your 'berry history' update details in my stuff and 'get spending' on mobile goodies, PayPal cash1 or online music credit for mp3's. Just follow the steps - it's really simple.
Changing your PIN
After you've logged into the getjam player once, your account is 'active'. This means you can log into our website (top right on home page), enter your mobile number and the pin you set up to log in. Head to 'my stuff' and hit 'my pin'. If you have any problem logging into the website, or just can't remember what pin you gave - don't worry - it happens to the best of use - just email here giving your mobile number .
Closing your account
We hope you'll want to stay with us forever but incase you wanting to close your getjam account, you can delete the application from your mobile and email us at hello@getjam.co.uk (include your mobile number) to tell us you are leaving us. If you want to give us feedback on why you are leaving and how we could have made it a better experience for you, we'd really like to know.
